Simulation and Exergy Analysis of a Refrigeration System Using an Open-Source Web-Based Interactive Tool—Comparison of the Conventional Approach and a Novel One for Avoidable Exergy Destruction Estimation

Avoidable endogenous/exogenous parts of the exergy destruction in components an energy conversion system can be computed by applying advanced analysis. Their calculation is crucial for correct assessment real thermodynamic enhancement achievable investigated system. This work proposes a new approach to estimate avoidable rates components, being more rigorous compared conventional method due elimination need implementation theoretical assumptions associated with idealization processes. An open-source web-based interactive tool was implemented contrast results analysis those involving estimation. The comparison based on same case study, i.e., refrigeration selected from literature. It observed that developed properly employed comparing two approaches within analyses, and obtained presented some differences compressor condenser.
